Das Racist's Kool A.D. Releases Mixtape

Yesterday night while you were tucking yourself into bed, Kool A.D., also known as Victor Vazquez or one third of indie-hip hop wunder trio Das Racist, released a solo mixtape entitled The Palm Wine Drinkard. Brimming with funk intros, ironic lyrics, bell rings and booty-dedicated beats, the mixtape is an easy listen, staying with the unique sound we often hear coming from Das Racist. Down to the tape's name, which likely originates from a critically acclaimed piece of Nigerian literature, Vazquez has blessed us with a set of sounds that is a cocktail of thoughtful, catchy and just enough kitsch.
