Psychedelic rock band Vinegar Mother introduces us to their unique brand of soul-tinged alternative rock on their new single titled "Nexus".
Lead by frontwoman Julia Zivic who gives a truly encapsulating performance over a wavering blend of sounds that range from rock, soul jazz, and alternative rock elements. The record which is about a complex relationship between a child and parent, including the complications that come with holding close our independence, authority, respect, and growth in such an intimate relationship is pretty dense, to be honest. Musically it sure packs a punch but it's Julia's sonorous renditions that truly gives this topic life beyond the somewhat complicated thread.
The lineup is comprised of Julia Zivic (vocals/lyrics), Itamar Gov-Ari (keyboard), Jason Zivic (drums), Mike Roninson (bass), with Chris Mazuera joining as lead guitarist late last year. PHASES is heavily influenced by the band’s melding of diverse genres while remaining authentic, fresh and original in the process. Vinegar Mother at its heart is a truly collaborative effort which they believe will strike a chord with fans and other musicians of all stripes. "Nexus" is the 2nd single from the band's debut full-length entitled, Phases, coming June 8th, 2018.
