Today's delivery is brought to you by RAJA (previously InfinitiRock). This young NYC producer has slowly been popping up on the interwebs with his highly varied releases. He recently released his Color instrumental beat tape and I immediately was taken aback at how effortlessly he was able to piece together seamlessly random sounds into something more than cohesive. It's almost as though the sounds were destined to be arranged in the way he has presented them. You can definitely see that he draws influence from Flying Lotus who has spawned so many great experimental producers. The track I'm bringing to you today is called "That Girl" which features Starchild from Raja's Guns of Kingston collective. It has a very dreamy sound that borrows influence from the 50's(think G-Eazy but dreamy and ambient). The album was released on Astro Nautico records. Check out the track and chill….
P.S. This is a little morbid but i think this track would be perfect if it was played on the show Dexter right when he walks in on his wife Rita, for the last time. It's got a sorrowful vibe to it. It would of made that scene so much more hurtful yet very reminiscent of good times past.
