In times of grief, it's necesary to purge the bad vibes, and catharsis helps. After the seemingly endless shitshow that the year 2016 has proved to be, this catharsis is more important than ever. Fortunately, Xiu Xiu have announced a new album to help us dance-cry the pain away.
Out February 24 via Polyvinyl Records, FORGET will be Xiu Xiu's first original full-length in two years, aside from assorted projects sugh as this year's Xiu Xiu Plays the Music of Twin Peaks. Lead single "Wondering" is a dancier take on the band's operatic, nü-goth style, held together by shuddering synths and pierced with screeches of noise. The track can be streamed below.

John Congleton (Blondie) and Greg Saunier (Deerhoof) join Xiu Xiu's Angela Seo in producing the album. Other tracks include appearances by minimal composer Charlemagne Palestine, Swans guitarist Kristof Hahn and performance artist and drag queen Vaginal Davis.
