Straight From the Teet – Body Wash, Jenn Grant, & Death in Paris 1983

There's no exact way of knowing how many songs are released in a day. Whether it be an eighteen second kazoo ditty on Soundcloud, or a Hypem track with 4 hearts, all music deserves a shot. Even on an independent blog like Earmilk, it's impossible to cover every band/song/remix worth listening too. That's why Straight From the Teet is back, and this time…it's daily! My name is Logan (aka Running) and I will be curating Earmilk's newest old feature, highlighting three up-and-coming artists from three different genres, so sit back and enjoy some good-old-fashioned, non-pasteurized, Earmilk. Drink it fast though, because I'll be coming back tomorrow with more…

Lo-Fi

A reclusive Chicagoan who goes by the pseudonym Body Wash is lighting up the sub-stratospheres (that's the lower part) of the blogosphere. His music is self-tagged-amongst other genres-as "psychedelic shit-gaze," so you know you're in for a treat when you peep the transgressive, transcendental, music video for his track "School's Out". His debut EP Merdered was released this past May, and you can pick up a free copy here on bandcamp (or, just option-click my three favorite tracks below).

House

Italian producer Matteo Tulli is a vintage house tastemaker. Plus, he goes by a cool pseudonym-Death in Paris 1983. He has more than two things going for him, but that's about all I could find out. His latest EP Aquarel was released in May via his Bandcamp account (you can buy it there for $2), and-apparently-he is posed to release another EP of deep house cuts sometime this summer. His blend of acoustic guitar vamping, disco filters, and ethereal vocal samples is enough to make any 80's throwback fan drool, so keep checking back at Earmilk for any updates regarding official releases.

Death in Paris 1983 – Something About Lovers

Indie-Pop

Who doesn't love hearing Adele on top 40 radio? Who can't get enough of that Florence and the Machine track…umm…you know, that one from more than two years ago that they're still playing. Meet Canadian Jenn Grant, she's cute, independent, from Halifax, and her music is fresh. Sure, her latest record Honeymoon Punch was released this past January, but her hypem hearts are still in the double digits! Punch was released by Six Shooter Records, their motto: "Life is too short to listen to shitty music." We at Earmilk couldn't agree more, so tune in and drop out of this Adele craze.

(P.S. Check the choreography on Grant's "Getcha Good" music video.)
