Dominik Eulberg at Footwork Bar, Toronto – June 18th

This coming Saturday will see the likes of Traum talent Dominik Eulberg working the sounds at Footwork Bar, at Queen St. E. and Adelaide in Toronto.  Eulberg recently released a full-length record, entitled Diorama via Germany's Traum Schallplatten label.   The former park ranger's crisp and organic sounds are largely inspired by nature, giving his music a uniquely 'Eulberg' feel.  Diorama is an excellent album overall.

Footwork has been proving itself to be an up-and-coming venue for high-quality electronic music, in the past year Stephan Bodzin, Marc Romboy, and Stimming have all played in the triangular Toronto club.  Cover charge at Footwork is usually between $15-25 depending on the event, but you can email the promoter and have yourself put on the guest list for reduced cover.  Email joel@footworkbar.com if you want to be put on the guest list.

Diorama is seemingly more melodic than much of Eulberg's past work, it's my personal favourite of all of his recordings to date.  Dominik has been DJ'ing and producing since 1995 and will definitely be a treat to enjoy in a live setting.  He is one of the most important figures that has been helping the German/Traum sound dominate the electronic world in Europe.

Here are a couple of my favourite tracks from Diorama:

Here's a good video of Eulberg playing live in 2010, the sounds are pretty crazy!

This show happens to be during NXNE in Toronto, but for those of you not big on indie music it's a great alternative and will likely not be too crowded.  Be sure to attend if you're in the Toronto area!

You can buy Diorama at the following online retailers:
