Last week, City Slang announced they were signing indie artist Sir Was. City Slang is know for artists like Arcade Fire, Caribou, Nada Surf and Sylvan Esso. This signing is well deserved for the promising Swedish producer. His latest single "A Minor Life" is a hauntingly beautiful blend of layered instrumentation and soft crooning vocals. His voice is reminiscent of Tame Impala and in Minor Life, the melody he produces is a light and airy concoction of fluttering synths, oscillating bagpipes (yes… bagpipes), and muted percussion. All if it comes together to create this lackadaisical and dreamy vibe that distorts and warps through the sonic parameters created. It has this whimsical feeling of snow falling and the confusion but whismy created from the whitewash. This is his first release with City Slang and we are very eager to see what he has to offer down the road.
