LA’s finest Bixel Boys and Amsterdam-based producer Poupon coming together is a match made in heaven, or perhaps a match for the dark, sweaty confines of a packed warehouse. “Ain’t Your Girl” winds up being this perfect center of the Bixel Boys’ aggressive, flashy style of deep house and Poupon’s glossy and eerie tendencies. With its monotone feminine vocals and the track’s innate sass, “Ain’t Your Girl” reminds me very much of Louisahhh!!! and Bromance Records. Instead of turning you away, the raw and edgy feeling is what makes this collaboration so addictive.
In addition to debuting this single, OWSLA Records also released a creepy video to match. Look for “Ain’t Your Girl” to be released next week as part of OWSLA’s Worldwide Broadcast compilation, which features artists like Skrillex, Louis The Child, DJ Snake, and so many others.
