The UK's Rudimental is a group whose music has made them a fixture of national pride and international influence, with their uplifting, soulful brand of poppy drum and bass music. The drum-and-bass group launched into almost immediate stardom with the release of their debut LP Home last year, working with vocalists like John Newman and Foxes on an album that generated some pretty big shoes to fill. A few months ago, the group announced that it’s ready to fill those shoes, with the release of We The Generation on September 18th via Big Beat Records. We were quickly reintroduced to Rudimental’s high energy with “Never Let You Go,” another repertoire-influencing lead single from the album. And in June, they unveiled the album’s more chilled out second single, “Rumour Mill,” whose vocals from Anne-Marie & Will Heard reminded us again as to why the group just gets it so right when given the right sultry, keen vocals. And today, we have the first listen to the next iteration of the track, this time done by Kyle Watson.

Ever familiar with the landscape of deeper house, Watson has taken “Rumour Mill” just enough underground, infusing deep house into the track and sampling the original vocals into fleeting, ethereal moments, ebbing and flowing through soulful moments in each instrumental breakdown. Check it out below as well as Rudimental’s forthcoming tour dates.
