This Saturday, MoMa PS1 continues their summer Warm Up series with a hip-hop heavy show intertwined with the eclectic future electronic sounds from London based label Night Slugs. Whether or not you who Bok Bok or Bobby Raps is, know that MoMa PS1 are experts at hand selecting some of the best up-and-coming talent to perform at their shows and that this Saturday is sure to please. We are have teamed up with MoMa PS1 to give 1 lucky reader two tickets to this Saturday’s performance. You can enter the contest below. BOK BOK

London-based producer and Night Slugs label founder Bok Bok is a madman when it comes to fusing together many different sounds to produce an intoxicating vibe that his completely his own. Pulling influence from grime, ghetto-tech, Baltimore club, and more his sound is a rich sound heavy in bass and dark soundscapes. Take a listen to Papaya Lipgloss below for a brief intro.

BOBBY RAPS & CORBIN

Minnesota based hip-hop duo BobbyRaps & Corbin deliver a down-tempo take on hip-hop mixed with contemporary instrumentation that helps to put emphasis on their poetic lyricism. Their style is a dark and introspective look into their minds with surprising hooks in each measure.

BLAQSTARR

Mad Decent signed and Baltimore-based artist Balqstarr is one that is hard to define and even harder to ignore. His sound is a conglomerate of down-tempo bass, contemporary R&B, a bit of indie-rock, and an subtle dash of grit that ties his whole sound together. DESPOT

While El-P continues to push Despot to release his 2043 AD album, the queens based rapper Despot continues to do his thing, play shows, and deliver his gritty heavy hitting hip-hop bars to the masses. Check out this Ratatat produced track that he performed for Seatlle’s KEXP below.
