Sweden's international pop star Robyn is making a stage in her career all about collaboration. First it was 2014's mini album with Royksopp, whose track "Do It Again" launched a multi-city sold out tour and the delight and revival in long time fans. This month, Robyn has returned but with a different partner in music making: La Bagatelle Magique. Known to friends as Markus Jägerstedt, and the late Christian Falk, the production teamed up as a trio to put together some unique pop music that's everything quirky we expect. "Love Is Free" was debuted by Annie Mac a few days ago, but was only streamable in the UK after its premiere. But now the track is both available in its original form and a remix that's a house head's dream. Joined by most iconic producers in the dance game, Todd Terry has officially put his own spin on the single that will be released by Konichiwa Records/Cherrytree/Interscope later this summer.
With the perfect addition of Mad Decent's Maluca, Terry has taken his mastery of true dance and hip hop inspired production and applied it to "Love Is Free," making it the perfect track for a late night, Ibiza beach party or a good jam in the headphones.
Fans in the US can rejoice again, as Robyn & La Bagatelle Magique confirmed their only American show this year: appearing at Treasure Island Music Festival in San Francisco the weekend of October 17 and 18.
