LA Based pop-singer Phoebe Ryan has been on a hot streak recently, dropping near material every other week or so. Her latest single “Dead” came out a couple of days ago and is a compelling self-reflective diatribe that puts you inside the singer’s head. Her lyrics struggle with her ability to accept the good and not doubt that things aren’t too good to be true. Light synths shimmer underneath her voice while heavy percussive melodies accompany the score adding a weight and a feeling of trudging through the muck despite fears, insecurities and inhibitions. Phoebe continues to impress with her singles and dead is another glistening representation of the promising singer’s diversity and creative ability.
