Music in it's simplest, most basic purpose is to convey and express oneself through an arrangement of sounds. Though the definition of music can vary from people to social contexts, we can all agree that it directly affects our emotions one way or another. Whether if it drops you into a sob-fest or shoots you into pure ecstasy, music is made to change how you feel. It's no mystery why you tend to choose happy-go-lucky songs on a beautiful day, or why you seek out dark songs on the worst day of your life. We honor those who make it their mission to stir the big pot of emotions in this week's volume of Feels Friday.

Today, we bring you a special edition of Feels Friday courtesy of Alan Vance, a.k.a. Vancington. Vancington is a Louisville based producer who likes to tread around the style of house. Not too much is known about him, but the work he has put out so far is fairly crisp and clean. In this volume, we showcase his exclusive mix for Feels Friday, In this particular mix, he pulls from his liking towards the bittersweet emotions that we feel when we are at our best and worst. The mix below expresses that bittersweet feeling with tunes that can sway you either way. Vancington describes,

"Trying to articulate the "feel" in my mix was definitely the most challenging part of the mix. I went with my gut, and tried to replicate, in a mix, how i try to go about producing my own music. A bittersweet theme is probably my favorite to identify in music. I believe if a tune can take you to both the lowest and the highest points of the human experience, then it is a
classic…"

So allot some feels time, and stream his exclusive mix below.

The name is Phil. I've been with EARMILK for handful of years now. I love all sorts of music, and I tend to change up what type of music I'm into throughout the year. However, one thing is certain: I love anything chill and mellowed out. A lot of the time, you'll see me covering smooth, chilled out grooves through our infamous Daily 2% series. 80 BPM is love, 80 BPM is life.
