Brooklyn based producers Space Jesus and M!NT have released their new collaboration "Cooler Than Ice Cream," in preparation for a debut show at hot NYC club Verboten tomorrow, with an open bar from 10-11pm as per New York style sponsored by Jameson and Belvedere. It makes perfect sense that the two would collaborate on the track since they share the same production values, and are committed to keeping their sound alty. With a music video write-up for "The Weed" already on the VICE Thump channel, Space Jesus is on his way to making a sweet splash in the competitive NYC music scene.
Also on the bill are The Sistine Criminals, a cross genre electronic project with inherently live elements that have attracted a substantial cult fanbase in the past, and are now poised to take that frenetic appreciation the forefront.
I know that the track is cool when it takes time to select a specific category. "Cooler Than Ice Cream" is very hip, very New York, and possesses the alty bass and hip-hop influenced elements that define Brooklyn. It's silky smooth, with an emphasis on bass lines and a slightly broken beat that make those synths just drip down the overall cone of the soundscape itself. I'm already in the club on this one, just swaying my hips next to another partygoer wearing a marijuana wreath and sipping a splash of Jameson on the rocks. I'm gone, but in the best way possible.
