No stranger to EARMILK, Toronto-based singer L3MON is an exceptionally talented vocalist whose Motel Room EP stunned us last month. A sultry foray into dark pop, the release is a must-listen for fans of experimental R&B. Equally as powerful is the music video for L3MON's latest track, "Boy", which we're excited to premiere today.
Directed by Toronto visual artist Matt Adam, "Boy" will likely remain in the consciousness of the viewer long after the video has ended. A story of the transition from anger to acceptance, "Boy" explores the relationship between the bully and the bullied, setting out to show that it is not social misfits who are broken, but those who take issue with them who have the real problem. When the victim saves the bully's life, he shows true compassion, despite the wrongs committed against him. Themes of self-acceptance and love over aggression resonate throughout "Boy", poignant messages in a society where the struggle of youth to fit in often leads to tragedy.
Clothing featured in the video includes a KTZ shirt, Rick Owens shoes, Alexander Wang backpack, Zanerobe pants, and Harley Davidson boots.
