We're in the midst of a dawning of a new era welcoming a different ilk of female singers to the forefront of pop music. Led by artists like Lorde, we've been featuring a lot of artists breaking the mold and creating their own soulful, quirky brand of pop (think Jessie J, Lily Allen, Katy Tiz, BANKS). Added to that list is Melanie Martinez, whose longevity is proving more than just her veteran status on The Voice. Her well-received Dollhouse EP released last month features flowy, poetic vocals that are of course, ripe for remixing. Today we have a first look at Dutch duo Chocolate Puma's take on the lead single from Martinez's EP entitled what else but "Dollhouse." While we've seen some pretty hard electro and disco from Gaston Steenkist and René ter Horst, they've recently taken a newer approach to their music, and it's quite refreshing. Their work on "Dollhouse" follows suit, with deep and lingering composition that gives a nod to house music purists in its depth. Check it out below, and look out for the full remix release on Atlantic Records soon.
