Nick Catchdubs goes for the gold, remixes GoldLink's "Ay Ay" [Download Premiere]

GoldLink has been a recent entrant into the lyrics game but an extremely successful one at that. Hundreds of thousands of plays adorn most every track on his Soundcloud, which only stretches back 10 months and features the likes of Kaytranada and Sango. Sometimes we dance fiends need that hip hop grime, a touch of rap that allows us to get down with a bit more attitude. Few would be better to tackle this challenge and attempt to recreate the inventive production of GoldLink than one of the industries most lauded labelheads, Nick Catchdubs. Along with co-founder A-Trak, he has taken Fool's Gold to new heights by bringing the freshest sounds to the forefront.

Last time Catchdubs graced our pages he dropped a 4-track of completely redone female pop songs. This time GoldLink's "Ay Ay" goes under the knife, the lead, downtempo track from the rap star's The God Complex, which emerges in all new spledor. The remix hits the sweet spot by an ideal blend of electro and hip hop, sliding towards the grimier end and capitalizing on the lyricist's confident work and Nick Catchdubs's masterful production. Download for free and get ready to go mobbin'.
