Jewelz & Sparks give depth to the meaning of “Dope”

Flamingo Recordings's formation in 2004 was due to an interesting collaboration between two dance DJs who thrived working together, DJ Funkerman and Fedde Le Grand. Their tradition is now passed onto some of the artists who like to call the label home, including German producers Jewelz & Sparks. Originally producing solo and occasionally collaborating together to see huge success, their release "Dope" is their sophomore single as an official duo together, and it's understandable why. Taking the expectation of today's electro house songs and flipping it around on its head, "Dope" is exciting, retro, groovy, and really heavy-hitting, all while using gritty synth melodies as its anchor.
