Timanti unleashes her bass rich, grooving debut EP 'This Time' [EP Stream]

As the nights get longer and the air gradually (especially over here in the UK) gets warmer, that summer feeling starts to take over. Over the next couple of months we will flock in our millions to festivals all across the globe whether we're looking for our dancing fix from DJ's, or to bounce around to the sounds of our favourite bands.

To herald in the summer season, I've brought for you today a golden slice of dance magic. London based producer/DJ Timanti is no stranger to dancefloors across the world, as she has tore up many of them during her energetic, floor smashing sets in many countries including Russia, Bali and Singapore. Having the best part of nine years DJ'ing experience under her belt, and having held residencies across London (as well as managing to fit in gigs into the white sanded haven that is Ibiza), Steffie has finally come to unleash her inner producer, with her first EP release, This Time on UK label Nixwax.

The four track offering, which will be available on vinyl from June 9th, exquisitely shows both the level of production that Timanti possess, but also that she has an eye for a catchy tune. The EP kicks off with a vocal edit of "Bird Song", which was co-penned by Jimmy Napes (who helped write Disclosure's "Latch" and Clean Bandits "Rather Be"), with the vocals sung by Lolé. With a shufflung drum beat, that features deep kicks, topped by a crispy synth line that has an incredibly catchy melody, Lolé's soulfully touched vocals compliment the track beautifully and really gives off those summer festival vibes. "Lockin" shows the darker side of Steffie's production, with hard hitting kicks submerged beneath deep bass lines and snappy claps, which makes for a definite dancefloor killer. The title track, "This Time", is more upbeat and chirpy, as a catchy sub bass line pumps through the track which is dominated by a cut up vocal samples and 'hands in the air' synth lines that build up to a really massive drop thats bound to get people moving. There's also an original mix of "Bird Song", minus the vocals from Lolé, which is still as dope as the vocal mix.

You can stream the This Time EP in it's entirety below, and be sure to follow Timanti and Nixwax on Twitter for more info on how to get your hands on this EP when it drops on 9th June.
