At this point, it's totally plausible to think that we've heard enough of Capital Cities's "Safe and Sound," after its commercial airtime and remix coverage. But this week, trance's dark warrior unicorn slayer Markus Schulz has teamed up with Miami-based duo and Coldharbour Recordings favorites Grube & Hovsepian to totally change the tune of the original track we thought we knew too well. While of course the uplifting vocals remain the same, the underlying instrumentals have taken on a uniquely trance persona, with synths that highlight the original melody at first, but take us down into a rabbit hole that "Safe and Sound" has never seen before. Originally debuted at Ultra Music Festival during the New World Punx's performance at A State of Trance 650, the track is now out on Capitol Records. Check it out below.
