NYC based producer Holm has released new track “Graves,” featuring the vocal stylings of Ease exclusively through EARMILK. Originally from Boston, Holm has remained true to his roots and continues to collaborate with his Zone Def Collective family despite now being part of the fast paced New York scene. His new creation, finished in less than one week, is pure experimental electro indie with a deeper meaning. And Holm himself describes his music as “Slightly lonely music for slightly lonely people.”
His muse for “Graves” was someone that he will probably never know well but despite that he still felt connected to their situation on a more subconscious and ultimately spiritual level. Holm truly related to the idea of living life with an immense weight on your shoulders, a hole in your heart of sorts, while still managing to find hope within oneself. This track expresses the idea that with great pain comes an even greater responsibility to harness it. He left his muse behind on a Manhattan street corner after finding this inspiration and said himself that even though they will likely cross paths again he will always remember them, even if they never know that the song exists. That being said, I think that this subtle and thoughtful track will stir emotions in whoever hears it through its steady beat with an overlay of unique spoken word.
