Mawhs has only recently emerged on the music scene with little notice on his Facebook page but a loyal following through Soundcloud. Currently signed to YYZ Records, it is clear this artist's career is just commencing. What first started as an interest in beats and instrumentals grew to a new musical sound by itself. It's fair to assume that this musician gains much of his inspiration from a natural side of things (far too many out trips in the wild I'd imagine), the earthy ambience of his music is often matched with a darker beat. Now as 2014 reaches the end of January, Mawhs keeps us internally warm with a new downtempo production. EARMILK is giving one of the first listens of the vibrantly structured song titled "Retrospect".
What begins soft and scattered quickly comes together as this song unfolds. Smooth vocals and a dreamy rhythm bring you into the main beat of the song. What really stood out was the gentle beat that comes in around half way, it's heavy pace keeps the track adrift. From harmonizing melodies to an unexpected tempo change, this track never looses momentum by keeping an uplifting tone that satisfies that inner craving for relaxation.
