One of the highlights this season at SnowGlobe was seeing the new and upcoming progressive electro house duo called X5ight. The young kids out of the Midwest not only have great tunes, but have some personality. We were lucky enough to sit down with these future Beatport top ten players. From a long distance relationship to coconut milk Brandon and Jerry give some insight on what X5IGHT really is about. Get to know the guys better who will be continuously on your iTunes top 25 playlist.
The crowd was packed, but this festival was different as you appreciated the warmth from others around. So no 'break times' and the beer tasted great, as it kept you warm. No snow this year, but that didn't stop the people coming from the Bay area and as far as Oregon. The 3-day event never stopped as after parties ran threw the night and the Dj's started early.
Gloves, mittens and even Dillion Francis cut out faces showed up to this event. What really made this event was the vibe that was given off. The more relaxed crew that you would see at Burning Man was mixed with a lineup that you would see at electronic version of Outside Lands. The never sleeping ski town showed its true colors as shredders appeared also, giving it the real mountain feel. There's nothing like a event like SnowGlobe.

EM: Lets talk about your track "Riot Kings" how did that track come to be? As it what inspired youo create that track before you made it? I hear a lot of Afrojack like elements in. How long did it take you?
B: Since Jerry is a Dirty Dutch enthusiast, there is definitely a large Afrojack influence in Riot Kings. We originally made the track in FL Studio and it sounded quite different initially. After some time we sent it to our friend, Teriszega, to see if he was interested. He saw a lot of potential in the song, so we sent him the stems. After a few meetings in the studio we had most of the song finished up! We showed Krewella one of our earlier versions, and once they played the track we knew it had HUGE support and we needed to get it out there. After that, it took about 2-3 months to FULLY finish the track. The delay was mostly a result of a busy schedule working on other projects at the time!

EM: For your Katy Perry remix you have it labeled as trap how do you guys feel about how trap has changed your production style from when you first started?
J: It was actually super cool to branch outside of our comfort zone in order to produce another style of music. We learned a lot of different techniques messing around with trap percussion, which will definitely be useful moving forward!
EM: What are your guys top 5 musicians/bands outside of EDM?
B: The Killers, Third Eye Blind, Walk The Moon, The Fray, Foo Fighters
J: Safri Duo, Pink, Avril Lavigne, Katy Perry, and Bruno Mars

EM: What was your first song that you heard that made you fall in love with music enough to want to pursue it as a career?
B: Deadmau5 – "Strobe"
J: Tiesto – "Traffic"
EM: I understand you both are university students. Which university are you attending and whatis your major? Do you participate in any clubs or activities outside of school and producing?
J: Eastern Illinois University and I study Athletic Training. I like to ski during the winter and I also do parkour with some of my buddies from my high school gymnastics team.
B: I’m studying Business (Marketing) at Indiana University. I’m a huge college football fan, and an avid skier during the winter!

EM: So you don’t attend the same school? How has that been challenging?
B: It’s been challenging, but not completely unmanageable. First off, Skype is definitely one of our best friends! It’s hard not being able to produce in person, so we generally video chat and send files back and forth! If anything, being apart has just taught us to really value our time together when we’re both in Chicago!
