Whether a fan or not it is hard not to recognize Chet Faker for his powerful voice that tends to mesh the boundary between indie and soul. The Melbourne-based singer has become household name in his native country for obvious reasons and his trajectory is now set to hit the United States in a big way. While his single "I'm Into You" made quite the splash last year, his cover of Blackstreet's "No Diggity" has thus far been carried along in tidal waves.
In prepping to his coming out in the international market Chet made the right decision of targeting New York, bringing on Kilo Kish to his newest release. "Melt" is a song that does not deviate much from it's path in terms of instrumentals, however various vocal sections work to create differentiation resulting in a standout track. Beginning with Chet showcasing hushed–almost raspy–vocals he quickly picks up with his r&b inspired hook. Once Kilo chimes in with her innocent whipped vocals "Melt" is set over the edge.
