The 'Ambassador of Boogie Funk', aka Dam-Funk, has released "Loyalty" featuring a G-Funk rhythm that brought me back to my days as a bouncer for Miami Beach nightclubs in the early 1990s. Throughout "Loyalty," Dam-Funk loops the vocals, "Money. Chicks. Fame. Friends. What happened to loyalty?" making us wonder if he was an unannounced collaborator on Drake's "No New Friends" campaign. "Loyalty" seems to be a slight departure from Dam-Funk's generally uplifting sound, which is refreshing given every artist must at one time or another question the authenticity of those around them.
