New York City venue Webster Hall and Area Event's newly launched Saturday party, Brite Nites, was revolutionized, transformed, and brought to life on April 20th after an electrifying set by A-Trak. It was a truly memorable show, and a great way to kick start the new Saturday night party series at the legendary venue. A set filled with a wide variety of uptempo and heart-thumping tracks, A-Trak's eclectic mix had the audience dancing until the early morning hours.

For those of you who are not music buffs or enthusiasts, A-Trak is a magician of turntablism, able to combine and mix sounds of a variety of tempos and genres with seamless effort. His career was jumpstarted after taking home the crown at the DMC World Championships at age 15. From that point forward, it has been all success for the Canadian, toting accolades such as being Kanye West’s personal tour DJ and launching his own label, Fools Gold, which bridges the gap between hip-hop and electronic music and features artists such as Flosstradumus and Congorock.
At Webster Hall, A-Trak displayed his ingenuity and mastery by captivating the audience with a unique set. A-Trak did not look back once the needle dropped on his turntable, spinning an array of dubstep, hip-hop, electro, trap and our favorite house music songs. With the masterful mixing and turntable skills he's known for, he went through an incredible variety and number of tracks during his two hour set, which I have rarely seen done. What was truly amazing was his ability to keep the sold out Webster Hall audience captivated and being able to maintain this enormous amount of energy for an extended period of time. Playing "Big Bad Wolf", a Duck Sauce feature, had the crowd going crazy, but once the well-known introduction to his remix of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' "Heads Will Roll" commenced, the crowd erupted into a frenzy, and one could feel the energy running through one's veins. With a sleek transition into the overplayed-yet-foot-stomping "Atom" by Nari & Milani, the energy remained at a consistent 110%.

The crowd continued to shake Webster Hall, especially when Carnage and Borgore's hit "Incredible", an amazing blend of house and trap, was played. Other tracks included "Started From The Bottom" by Drake, which is currently trending in the hip-hop realm. After an incredible mashing of tracks of a variety of tempos and genres, A-Trak dropped my favorite song from his collection, his remix of Martin Solveig's "Night Out", which provided the ultimate feel-good moment of the night and had the dance-crazed audience singing along. A-Trak concluded his set with incredible style and class by playing the newly released Daft Punk song, "Get Lucky," which only seemed suitable and the perfect end to an already unbelievable night.
