One of my most played artists of the past year has been the UK indie rock band Bastille. First having heard of them from their delightful Other People's Heartache Pt. 2 which they then followed up with their debut album Bad Blood, it's easy to see why Dan and his three accompanying mates Chris, Kyle, and Will have been touring all across Europe and are geared to light up the festival scene come summer. With their success showing no signs of slowing, RAC has taken on the unenviable task of remixing Bastille's "Laura Palmer".
Yet with a cool and laid back demeanor that is befitting of an artist that has remixed over 200 tracks, RAC quite simply crushes this new rendition of "Laura Palmer". While I had to play it through a couple of times, it's hard to not be swooped up in the strumming of soft guitar chords, the rhythmic beat of drums, and more relaxed indie rock nature of the remix. This should come as no surprise though, since it's a safe bet to say that RAC is a master on creating such a feeling. So go outside, frolic in the nearest park or body of water, and let the crooning of Bastille's lead vocalist Dan wash over you as RAC continues to put a smile on your face.
