In the mood for reworked 90s R&B? Well, electronic duo Codec have you covered with their version of the dance hit "Closer Than Close", or is that Disclosure you are listening to? As it turns out, the recent style mimicked by such artists is really a throwback to 90s R&B synth music with a touch of UK garage swing thrown into the mix. To listen for yourself, check out the original Rosie Gaines 1995 version of "Closer Than Close" here.
In Codec's version of "Closer Than Close", they modernize the song with clarity and a catchy broken-up synth line. The release of their new bootleg comes after the London duo released their debut bass-heavy EP Be Yourself last month via Black Butter's Spread Love series. If you want to listen to a similar throwback R&B style, check out Disclosure's bootleg of Janet Jackson's "Call On Me" featuring Nelly, also below.
