Marking the next chapter of his creative evolution, Me The Machine presents "The Flesh Of The Innocent," a 10-track album of exhilarating and emotive sound design. Inspired by Me The Machine's love for horror video games, this album is an exploration of isolation and fragility, and the thin threads of feeling that connect us, rooted in a thickened metallic haze and brooding atmosphere.
The collaboration with Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka doubles down on this cinematic persona, providing unease and beauty that always seem to be just out of sight. "War in Silence" and "Light Years" examine emotional distance and desire, suggesting a way to listen that asks how solitude can reframe perception and time. "Remember Me" draws on Mexican roots and adds a touch of spice to the record's emotional palette.
Another track, "Miomantis (Scars)" is an investigation into obsession and self-destruction too, a thin divide separating devotion from ruin. "The Innocent" and "The Serpent & The Rainbow" take the story toward deeper personal collapse and relational conflict. The songs capture what happens when emotional scars complicate intimacy, beckoning forth a pain difficult to exorcise entirely.
Most of the tracks were mixed and mastered by Mark Tieku, while "Soul Eater" and "Miomantis (Scars)" were mixed by Emmanuel Gallegos. "The Flesh" and "Funeral (4love)" prove Me The Machine is not afraid to blend deeply personal storytelling with heavier experimental sound. "The Flesh Of The Innocent" evolves into a contemplation on how love is the only force capable of shattering cycles of solitude even in the most emotionally chaotic environments.
