Los-Angeles indie rock duo Ships Have Sailed has just unleashed their latest irresistible single. Entitled "Exit Wound", the track is the first of the year from this creative team behind the likes of "If Only", "Silence" and "Let's Just Dance".
With "Exit Wound", Ships Have Sailed explores truth, illusion, deception and emotional aftermath of lived experience. The single stands as a compelling reminder that even in moments of uncertainty or emotional rupture, there’s clarity to be found, and perhaps even optimism waiting just beneath the surface. Lyrics including "So shelter your light / When they bring the dark / When a lie becomes a truth / Find a door and step right thru," shows this narrative.
Musically, "Exit Wound" is filled with cinematic synths, sparkly otherworldly sonics and captivating guitars. Driving drums and warm vocals singing anthemic melodies create a must listen to musical embrace.
Spearheaded by Will Carpenter alongside drummer Art Andranikyan, the Los Angeles duo continues to refine a sound that balances cathartic indie rock with reflective lyricism. Ships Have Sailed has received the grand prize in the USA Songwriting Competition and their music was featured on the hit series Grey’s Anatomy. Take a listen to "Exit Wound" now and get lost in the sound!
