While the pool parties and late-night sets delivered the energy WMC is known for, it was the daytime programming that offered a deeper look into where the industry is actually heading.
One of the most insightful sessions came from Create Music Group, who unpacked the full lifecycle of building a modern label, from early-stage deal structuring to scaling operations and ultimately positioning for acquisition.
What stood out wasn’t just the roadmap, but the emphasis on long-term value creation. In a space that often prioritizes quick wins, the conversation leaned into sustainable growth, strategic partnerships, and understanding what buyers, whether majors or private equity are actively seeking today.
On the artist side, Sara Landry joined Robb McDaniels for a forward-facing discussion on techno’s rapid global rise. Beyond the genre’s momentum, the conversation tapped into how technology is reshaping both discovery and performance. From platform influence to audience behavior, it was clear that techno’s growth isn’t accidental, it’s being driven by both cultural demand and digital infrastructure evolving in sync. Another standout panel brought together a diverse mix of artists including Alison Wonderland, Sasha, Danny Daze, and Dubfire, alongside AlphaTheta’s Lars Schlichting.

One of the defining moments came at the Beatport Live Pool Party x 20 Years Rekids, where Danny Tenaglia delivered a set that bridged generations of dance music. It was a reminder that while the industry continues to evolve, its foundation is still rooted in DJs who understand.
