Acapla has shared a new single, titled "Somewhere i'm not supposed to be". Emerging from Wyoming’s wide, quiet spaces, Acapla is focused on building emotional worlds through sound. Largely self-taught, his path has been shaped more by curiosity than formal structure, with a brief period of studying music at Northwest College in Powell, Wyoming helping to sharpen an already restless approach to making music. While his work is rooted largely in electronic, it pulls freely from the vitality of hip-hop and the vibrancy of pop and pop punk. His latest single, “Somewhere i’m not supposed to be,” captures a moment of inner tension- between who we are, who we’re becoming, and the versions of ourselves we imagine just out of reach, expressed through vital instrumentation and emotive songwriting.
“Somewhere i’m not supposed to be” opens with rising, atmospheric layers of synths, immediately creating a hypnotic sense of momentum. These synth textures build dynamically, giving way to engaging, emotive vocal lines that draw the listener further in to the track’s vibrant mood. The outro, composed of soaring synth lines, distill the track’s feeling of catharsis and release into an uplifting finish.
The latest from Wyoming artist Acapla, “Somewhere i’m not supposed to be” blends refreshing, poignant instrumentation with heartfelt vocals for an affecting new offering.
