After exactly a year of not releasing any music, American singer, Danielle Balbuena, artistically known as 070 Shake releases new single “Arms,” featuring Swedish composer Jacob Mühlrad. The almost five-minute song takes the listener along the drifting journey of 070 Shake and her fear of falling back in love, getting hurt or not loving properly.
The 28-year-old singer and her new love interest may both be afraid of this relationship going far, yet, are still willing to take the leap of faith. As the violin, drum beats and piano play, the artist sings, “Follow me upstairs, I can't be bare. The pain that we share, a love without care. It's all I know, it's all I know, it's all I know. You fix me up and then I break myself.”
070 Shake is vulnerable and recognizes she may not stay forever as past experiences may have traumatized her and she is unwilling to give her everything. “Give me all you need. Give me all you wanted. It's hard for me to speak. It's hard for me to love,” 070 Shake continues singing. The other person is only dreaming of 070 Shake and giving all her love, that for the first time the singer hates herself for the person she has become. Meaning 070 Shake has never experienced this kind of love before as assumed by following lyrics, “Gettin' harder to contain myself. Finally made me wanna hate myself. Came from God. I’ve been in your arms, I've been in your arms.”
Along the piano, she ends singing “I'm a drifter to you. I’ll be gone forever. So, goodbye and hello. I'm a drifter to you. I’ll be gone forever.”
The song may have you wonder, daydream and drift apart from reality. Whose arms do you want to hold you at night?
