The song title/band name might be a slang word for puke—but aside from that, there is nothing sickening about the sound of this.
After more than a year of teasing this release, Potar has finally opened the floodgates on their first single, the self-titled "Potar." Don't let the high-energy ballad fool you; this song is about misfortune. The chorus literally translates to "I'm gonna puke," repeated over and over.
The single comes complete with the sweetly delivered vocals of a 90's indie rock medley, a bouncy rhythm, and power chords that speed up into a sweeping ensemble when the chorus hits. Everything about it is catchy, fun, and signals a bright future for the new band.
This may be their first music video as a band, but these are no amateurs when it comes to style.
Covered in tomatoes and dropped face-first into a pool, then dancing arms in-the-air style and running at full speed, lead vocalist Marisol Eichborn encapsulates the extremes of the song—all while singing along.
If this is your thing, keep an eye out for their EP Mañanas de Bajón, set to be released on October 25th, 2025.
