Babeheaven is a London-based duo made up of vocalist Nancy Andersen and producer/multi-instrumentalist Jamie Travis, crafting deliciously introspective electronic pop.
After a near four-year musical hiatus, they have finally made their grand return and have not disappointed.
On July 25th, they dropped their single "Beloved" on London label Scenic Route Records. The song, recorded mostly at home, was "written in a tender moment," which you can feel pulsing through every count.
Upon hearing the first three opening chords, you immediately transcend into a sky of soft, pillowy clouds where you float for the next 3 minutes and 59 seconds.
Vocally, you are carried by Anderson's heavenly and distinctive vocals.
The production gradually layers as the track progresses, enticing the listener to ascend higher, with harmonic vocal echoes and hazy chords lifting you along the way.
The ascension climaxes as the soft percussive drums and bass drop about mid-way through the song, and for the next minute or so, you just float in suspension.
As the ethereal electronic synthesizers get heavier, you gradually descend. When the song fades out, you are brought back to earth. It feels like you just awoke from a dream.
