Meet singer-songwriter Lauren Spring, an Americana artist from Florida’s Gulf Coast whose solo releases have amassed over 7 million streams on Spotify and landed on Apple Music’s New Americana editorial playlist.

Spring’s new single, “Dark On Me,” is powerful, carrying lyrical weight and emotional depth. She sings, “When it gets too real, don’t go dark on me, don’t go where I can’t see.”

The track pulls at the heartstrings, exploring how life can sometimes feel overwhelming and how past words can linger and hurt.

Yet her message remains clear—a heartfelt plea not to be shut out or forgotten. While deeply personal, the song resonates with anyone who’s ever felt the urge to disappear or who knows someone who has.

Sonically, the verses carry an indie rock vibe with strummed guitars and rock-tinged vocals, while the chorus shifts to a more pop-forward sound, driven by a grooving beat that flirts with hip-hop.

It’s a contrasting choice that highlights Spring’s willingness to experiment and surprise within her music.

Overall, “Dark On Me” is a standout single—a clear mission statement from Spring, who sings with conviction and genuinely cares about the message.
