New Orleans pop punk band Neutral Snap has just released their latest single and music video "Waltz". The track is a highlight off of their forthcoming new EP I Hardly Know Her due out later this summer. "Waltz" follows their hard-hitting pop punk tune "Danny ACOG", shared in June.
With "Waltz", Neutral Snap creates a dynamic pop punk meets rock envelopment. The song is filled with melodic guitar riffs, heightened verses, and an anthemic chorus that hits hard. As the track progresses so does the energy with jumpy rhythms, thrashing guitars and hard-hitting drums mirroring the song's theme of a breakup. Lyrics including "So much for thinking that the two of us / Could grow up / As for me I'll be finishing everything you couldn't start," tap into emotional turbulence with sincerity and just the right amount of melodrama. The song discusses that all too relatable situationship as Neutral Snap create the perfect backdrop for relationship upheaval with verses that build tension, a chorus that explodes, and lyrics that channel heartbreak, anger, and defiance in equal measure. The music video is a more light-hearted affair with the band making breakfast, smoking, playing video games and performing outside, taking listeners into their daily life for a fun watch.
