The song tackles the perils of an ideology filled with false promises and deceitful narratives and how many people fall for these lies. The story is timeless, sad and a cautionary tale. He sings, "And now it's crashing down / Watch as you fall / And succumb to your deafening call," showing this theme. Musically, the song is a contrast to the dark narrative with soaring angelic harmonies, dreamy evocative guitars, and whispered vocals.
