Dev Hynes makes his return to the project of Blood Orange. While Hynes has continued to lend his musical talents to tv and film soundtracks over the years, his Blood Orange moniker has laid asleep in slumber. Blood Orange's last project came in 2022 with Four Songs. Since then, Hynes had his attention elsewhere. In the year 2025, Blood Orange is back with the new single "The Field."
Written and produced by Dev Hynes, the artist brings along a slew of artists in Daniel Caesar, The Durutti Column, Tariq Al-Sabir. The single also reunites Hynes with long time Blood Orange collaborators Caroline Polachek and Eva Tolkin.
Blood Orange makes a statement with the new single. One of most outstanding voices in today's R&B, Blood Orange releases a self reflective track. The writer-producer has carved out a long discography while still challenging himself in fusing genres. "The Field" is no different from what many expect from the musical originator.
"The Field" gives fans their first taste of what's to come from Blood Orange. After spending the last 3 years performing and producing for others, its seems all that time has given Blood Orange inspiration of his own. "The Field" is sure to be the first in a series of new material for Dev Hynes in the coming year.
