HELANG kicks off AAPI month with driving new single "Hits Different" on HILOMATIK

Rising Chinese-American producer and DJ HELANG kicks off Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month with her powerful new techno offering "Hits Different," out now on HILOMATIK, Oliver Heldens' techno-focused sub-imprint of Heldeep Records. The track showcases HELANG's signature blend of deep, driving rhythms and atmospheric textures, further cementing her position as an innovative force in the underground electronic scene.

"Hits Different" marks a significant milestone as HELANG's debut on the prestigious HILOMATIK imprint while also celebrating her cultural heritage during AAPI Heritage Month. As a Chinese-American artist carving her path in a historically male-dominated genre, HELANG continues to bring her authentic perspective to every aspect of her artistry.

"I feel like I always am, but especially lately, living life through a lens of discovery, adventure, and seduction," HELANG shares about the release. "When I sit down and write music, I am the most inspired by how I feel connected to the art of mystery. The small things that can make us get up and dance and be ourselves is the core purpose of my craft, and 'Hits Different' is a testament to that."

The single follows her well-received Flashback EP released via HE.SHE.THEY. Records earlier this year. Her recent performances have included standout appearances at E1, Teksupport NYE, and Echostage DC, sharing stages with industry titans like Amelie Lens, Nicole Moudaber, and Eric Prydz.

Since launching her own imprint, Dauntless Records in 2023, HELANG has maintained creative control while pushing boundaries in electronic music. She recently hosted the second edition of her female-only Brooklyn-based showcase for Dauntless, further highlighting her commitment to creating inclusive spaces within the scene.

HILOMATIK has swiftly become one of techno's mainstay labels, featuring releases from HI-LO, Hardwell, Space 92, Armin van Buuren and Eli Brown, with Oliver Heldens at the helm.

As HELANG continues to ascend through the ranks of techno's most exciting talents, she remains dedicated to amplifying her authentic self and cultural heritage, challenging norms and inspiring a new generation of artists. "Hits Different" is available now on all streaming platforms.
