Musical innovator Derek Simpson has just shared his latest experimental and ambient project via Trailing Twelve Records. The album called Somehow (Abstracts), is a collection of seven introspective and mesmerizing tracks. The music is a journey through lush sounds filled with dreamy synthesizers, warm vocal hues, seductive bass, echoing guitar strings, and emotional sonics.

The album is ushered in with "222", a relaxing oasis of layered synthesizers that ebb and flow creating a dynamic and cathartic listen. The song is all music, with no words, letting the landscape of sounds speak for themselves. The track takes listeners to a transformative space, where time and place are blurred. It is a meditation inward, a place where the listener is whole again. Derek shares, "If Somehow explores memory and it’s billowing out within the limitation of traditionally pop song structures, then the Abstracts journey one step further into the dreamlike inner space and surrender to its abstraction.”

Derek Simpson is an artist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist who is known for pushing the boundaries with his unique and experimental releases. The Los Angeles based creator has racked up over 5 million plays and has landed on multiple Artist To Watch lists, catapulting him to success. Take a listen to "222" now and get lost in the sound!
