Emerging rapper Rae Mulla has followed up a blazing 2024 with latest production “Breathe.” A luscious blend of hip-hop, pop and electronica, the genre-bending production brims an alluring dreamy vibe with a bold and punchy undercurrent.
Wrapped in a primal sensibility brought to life by layers of pounding percussion and bass-driven stomps, the explosive track sways between chaos and confidence with its pulse-racing sonic approach.
Talking about the production of the track, Mulla says, “When we were building the track, we stripped away the excess. No unnecessary melodies, no distractions. Just the raw kick and sub, menacing and urgent. The hook is like the breath you take before plunging back into the chaos. A moment of detachment. Like you’re gasping for air while drowning in your own momentum.”
Led by an intense soundscape softened to perfection by the reflective exploration of spiralling out of control, “Breathe” is a short yet impactful slice of Mulla’s signature hip-hop musicality which put him on the radar as one to watch since his debut in 2020. Mulla's smooth, laid-back flow in the track is elevated by intriguing visuals rooted in plenty of swagger.
