Indie rock sibling duo Ray and Paul show their time tested "Scars"

San Fransico-based indie rock siblings, Ray and Paul, release their latest laid-back single, "Scars." A mixture of sweet and brazen rock, the new single marks the duo's second release this year as they gear up for their upcoming EP, Fading, via Desert Lady Records. "Scars" is an unfinished track from years prior that sees the light of day with finished production. The Holmberg brothers lean on their youthful sound to bring the addicting track to life.

Something native to the West Coast, the surf rock/garage hazy sound is present in the underlying layers of the track while still maintaining a modern twist. Mid in its tempo but harsh in its emotional feeling, "Scars" is a story built upon the limbo plane of sorrow and resilience. Within the songwriting process, Ray spoke about the track being "a reflection on the intensity of young love and the difficult process of moving forward when it’s lost."

While touring the entire West Coast this year, Ray and Paul are hard at work refining their sound. Teaming up with producer Jarvis Taveniere (Allah-Las, Mile High Club) allowed for greater expansion on "Scars." The band was making waves in the local LA music scene just a few years ago. As their new EP drops later this year, Ray and Paul promise new sounds and genres as they race to the top.

"Scars" is available on all music streaming platforms.
