Hàn Gắn emerge from a brief hiatus with emphatic anthem "Bird of Burden,” blending cathartic alternative rock with relentless punk. With sharp guitars and pounding beats cut by a defiant, raspy vocal delivery, the track brims with a sense of excitement.
Led by a reflective and philosophical touch, the track is observant of the world around us, inviting us to tap into the questions and intuitions within us.
Speaking of the track, they say, “Bird of Burden began as a simple song idea years ago and gradually evolved through three distinct movements, becoming something entirely unexpected. The turmoil in Washington has felt like stepping into an abyss, but we hold on to our faith in the collective. Each of us carries our own burdens—like the Mariner and the albatross.”
The release also includes two bonus tracks: a remastered version of “Soul’s Fire Escape” from Hàn Gắn's debut EP The City of Magnificent Intentions, and an instrumental dub of “The Sound” from their album Tragically Optimistic.
Comprised of J. Brian Nicewander and Matt T. Eng, Hàn Gắn continue to establish themselves as an exciting underground duo with each release.
