The genre of dream pop seems to be more crowded than ever before. In recent years, shoegaze and its offshoots have rapidly continued to push for artists looking to build upon the formula. Amidst the clutter is Southern Cali-based duo Dream, Ivory showcasing their unique spin on the ever-expanding genre. The project of Filipino siblings, Christan and Louie Baello, Dream, Ivory blends the rawness of pop punk with the distorted vocals of shoegaze to create its sound. This past weekend, the duo released their new single, "At Zero."
Coming off the hills of their previous two tracks "Lost Angles" and "Bullet Train," the Baello brothers are back to creating what they do best after their 2022 debut album, About a Boy.
For "At Zero," the single harkens back to the roots of Dream, Ivory with the modern upbeat pop punk themes of earlier work. Still maintaining their musical evolution, the brothers strike a chord in the ear canal that hums notes of isolation. The track is one of their best work as it balances the line between explosive and emotionally charged.
"At Zero" is available on all DSPs.
