Setting the bar high with his new EP, Post-EDM, TATE SEDAR demonstrates what it means to push the boundaries of music, blending high-energy sounds of the past with fresh, forward-thinking production. In the EP, Sedar effortlessly bridges the golden age of EDM with modern influences, managing to capture his journey as an artist while showcasing his unique ability to merge nostalgia with innovation. While the entirety of the EP is a no-skip listen from start to finish, "Emotions" and "Our Goodbye" were the two tracks that really drew my attention.

“Emotions” (ft. P$YCHEDELIC) is a genre-blurring fusion of tech house, bass house, lofi hip-hop, and trap. It represents a turning point for SEDAR, reflecting his expanded musical taste after years abroad. Featuring rapper P$YCHEDELIC, the track injects urban grit into the EP, proving that electronic music can be as raw and emotive as any other genre. The song’s success, surpassing 100k Spotify streams, is a testament to its impact.

On the other hand, “Our Goodbye” (with Liv Kennedy) is an unconventional summer breakup anthem that takes dance pop in an unexpected direction. The track’s energetic drop swaps standard EDM saw patches for expressive guitars, adding warmth and authenticity. Written during the pandemic, it evolved over three years before landing radio play and charting at #18 on Nexus Radio. SEDAR reflects on his shift in production, stating, “With ‘Our Goodbye,’ I said hello to new forms of hybrid production.”

By fearlessly blending past and present, "Post-EDM" isn’t just a collection of tracks- it’s a statement. TATE SEDAR is redefining what electronic music can be, proving that innovation doesn’t mean abandoning the roots that built the genre. His ability to fuse house, hip-hop, rock, and dance-pop into something fresh yet familiar sets him apart in a crowded scene. With "Post-EDM", TATE SEDAR is not just following trends- he’s creating them..
