Long Island bred and now San Diego based chart-topping singer-songwriter Michael Gilas has just unleashed his latest musical gem. Called "Working with the Rain", the song is the first of the year following a series of single releases last year.

With "Working with the Rain", Michael Gilas creates a song all about finding solace in the present moment and letting go of the need to try and control everything. We don't know what the future will contain and Michael Gilas shares the importance of surrender and hope in his important new single. Lyrics showing this theme include “I’m betting on sunshine / and working with the rain." Musically, "Working with the Rain", is reminiscent of works of classic songwriters including Bruce Springsteen and Van Morrison. The timeless narrative sung warmly over folk rock soundscapes entices with every listen. The chorus is anthemic, layered and enduring, highlighting the true talent of this budding songwriter.

Michael Gilas devoted himself full time to music after a time of hardship. Bedridden after a severe horseback riding accident and unable to walk, the creator used music and songwriting to cope. The songs became his debut forthcoming album, 231 Kensington Road, named after the address on Long Island, where he grew up. Teaming up with Grammy-nominated producer Kent Wells (Dolly Parton, Reba McEntire), Michael Garvin (Jennifer Lopez) as well as acclaimed musician John Peña, his single “Working with the Rain,” has already charted #21 on Billboard's Adult Contemporary Chart. With more music to come, we can't wait to hear what is next from this riser.
