London-hailing alternative pop artist Becca James explores trauma, dissociation, and the struggle to reconnect with the body, self, and others on expansive anthem “Holy Bed.”
Led by her signature cinematic power, the track captures a sense of personal turmoil and triumph rooted in raw piano acoustics, subtle ethereal synths, echoing drums and angelic vocals. A delicate yet all-powerful anthem that soars towards an expressive finish, the track is spirited and introspective as it weaves through themes of self ands disunity.
Speaking of the passionate track, she says, “ It’s about reclaiming safety and power especially in intimacy, sexuality and embodiment.I’m so thankful that my co-writer and producer, Gustavo, created a safe space where I could tell this story and that Kim Nickerson added the final magic we needed to bring the track to life.”
The track is elevated by a striking and emotive music video created by a team of London-based creatives that channels the energy of the Divine Feminine, Aphrodite, and the sacral chakra, an energy centre for creativity.
Forging a fusion of electronic, soul, and folk elements since her debut in 2019, James shows no signs of slowing down as she works towards her upcoming expansive album.
