Cigarettes for Breakfast drops their hypnotic sophomore album "Slow Motion"

"Slow Motion" is an dreamscape that cements Cigarettes for Breakfast’s status as one of indie rock’s most beguiling acts. Dropped through Abandon Everything Records (Vinyl), Candpin Records (Tape) and Upstate Sound Music Group (Digital), this eleven-track voyage wraps you in a rich blanket of flavour and blissful highs fused with melancholic lows.

Spitting in at just over 33 minutes, "Slow Motion" is aptly named, asking audiences to drift in and out of layers of otherworldly guitars, trance-inducing drum patterns and fluttery, washed-out vocals. The album's centerpiece, "Slow Motion", is a standout that tightrope walks dreamy textures with raw emotional depth. Also mesmerizing is Seeing Stars, a cosmic hymn that glows with nostalgic warmth and celestial chi while reaffirming the band’s power to build soundscapes that linger beyond being here now.

Following up on a promising debut, Cigarettes for Breakfast leans into a more polished, cinematic sound on their second album. Each song transitions seamlessly into the next, contributing to an effect of suspended time that’s sure to leave listeners hitting repeat the second the last note fades.

With "Slow Motion", Cigarettes for Breakfast aren’t merely creating music so much as conserving an entire experience, a sonic daydream that hangs around after the last chord detonates. This is a record destined to become a catalog mainstay for shoegaze, dreampop and alt-rock fans alike.

Tune in to Slow Motion now and immerse yourself in the slow-burning splendor of Cigarettes for Breakfast’s newest opus.
