Atticus Roness drops infectious new single “Why”

Atticus Roness returns with one question for you, Why resist a perfect pop song? For his latest single, “Why,” Roness serves an unshakable hook-filled anthem that instantly embedded itself in my brain. Clocking in with a compact runtime and a laser-sharp focus on melody, this track is a masterclass.

“Why,” which Roness termed the pop song of his forthcoming album, "Power Pop World Domination" (due April 4, 2025), is as much an homage to his rock roots as it is an affirmation of his alt-rock mettle, now. It’s an ode to the pleasure of staying in your lane and ignoring a little information because knowing less is the real path to happiness, sometimes.

Sounding like a song that another generation or two might use to soundtrack sun-soaked road trips, late-night dance sessions, and those situations when you just need to turn your brain off and vibe, “Why” is a punchy rhythm that lays on the earworm qualities along with a no-filler approach. It’s fun, it’s sweet, and it’s got just enough grit to keep it grounded. It's a fitting preview of the high-energy triumph Roness is out to deliver on his upcoming record.

If "Power Pop World Domination" is the victory lap, then “Why” is the confetti cannon that sets it off. Get ready to help this one go viral.
